Htc Touch Viva Review

The HTC Touch Viva entry level HTC phone that looks good and is value for money. It weighs 110 grams and measures 104.5 mm x 59 mm x 15.8 mm. The screen is 2.8 inches, and being a touch screen there is no keypad or keyboard. However there is a large navigational pad beneath the screen and two touch sensitive call buttons. The Viva HTC is available in a dark grey colour.

There is a music player built into the HTC Touch Viva phone, and it comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack so that you can use any set of headphones that you wish. Sound quality is quite good, especially with the loudspeaker. Internal memory is 128 mega bytes and this can be increased even further using a MicroSD card.
The camera has 2 mega pixels and 2 times digital zoom. Picture quality is ok, but nothing special. It seems that HTC have let the phone down a little by using such a sub-standard camera.
HTC have of course includes all of the basic and standard applications you would expect. These include a calendar, personal organiser, calculator and alarm clock. Other advanced features included on the Touch Viva HTC are instant messaging ability, the ability to view threaded sms (this works in a similar way to how you view emails in Gmail) and pocket office which has a universal document viewer (for viewing excel, word, powerpoint and pdf files).
Internet connection is manageable with Edge, Gprs and wifi, but there is no 3G. One can also link their phone to a third party device using Bluetooth.

In summary, the HTC Touch Viva is a decent enough phone. It looks good and has the basics one would expect. However the camera is a little poor and the lack of 3G, for a smart phone, is quite poor as well.
