Blackberry Pearl 8110 Guide

The Blackberry 8110 Pearl is compact (actually one of the smallest) blackberry phones on the market. It measures just 107 mm x 50 mm x 14 mm and weighs only 91 grams. The screen is a decent 2.2 inches (which is more than adequate for a phone of this size), and makes it easy to view pictures and web pages. Beneath the screen is a very large circular trackball and some shortcut keys. Beneath this is the full QWERTY keyboard, which is backlit, making the keys stand out. At the moment the Blackberry 8110 Pearl can only be picked up in blue or black.

The music player has a 3.5 mm audio jack, which means you will be able to use any set of headphones with them, which is excellent news. Internal memory is 64 mega bytes, but of course this can be further increased using a MicroSD card. Blackberry also included pretty good speakers, so you can play the music through the loudspeaker if you choose to.
The camera on the Pearl 8110 Blackberry has 2 mega pixels and an LED flash. Picture quality is quite good, and the 8110 Pearl also has dedicated zoom keys.
Being a smart phone, the Blackberry 8110 Pearl does not disappoint with its applications, with the main focus being on the email functions. There is Blackberry Maps which works quite well with the GPS, a document viewer (pdf, word, excel and powerpoint) and Suretype software which makes it easy to type very fast with the QWERTY keyboard. Internet connections are ok with GPRS and EDGE, but lacks 3G and wifi, which is a little disappointing for a Blackberry. This really makes all the other features seem a little stale, since the main purpose of a Blackberry phone is to access the internet and more specifically email functions.
